The ChildSafe School is a solution-based program designed to reduce children's
exposures to common environmental toxins found in and around schools. The three areas of focus include diesel exhaust
from school buses, toxic chemicals in cleaning products, and pesticides used on playing
fields and school grounds.
The ChildSafe Resource Guide features a DVD containing
three short documentary videos, one about each of the problem exposures. The videos feature interviews with medical professionals
as well as school officials who have successfully implemented protective policies. The Guide also includes sample policies,
Q&A Sheets and Science sheets for each of the problem exposures. See documents.
Copies of the Resource
Guide are available to parents, teachers and administrators for $15.00 each including domestic shipping via UPS. Order.
The goal of the ChildSafe School is to educate parents and school officials about these exposures
and encourage them to adopt protective policies. To accomplish this goal we are seeking concerned individuals to act as local
“ChildSafe Advocates” to help bring about positive environmental changes in their communities . Find out more.
